Using Poser Figures In Bryce : Part 3

Now he should look like this. Note the faint line around the edge of the eyebrow mesh. This is a slight fault with bryce's interpretation of the .OBJ. At a distance it's generally not a problem as it is taken care of in the antialiasing pass - however, close up it will remain, but can be easily edited in post work. Now those eyes...
Why are his eyes white when the eyes are part of the head texture? Well, it's a little trick that poser uses. The eyes are there, fully textured, but they're surrounded by a white sphere. In poser, this sphere is totally transparent, but has a specular highlight. That's what gives the figure a nice glint in their eye! So we just have to apply the right material. If you click on the middle of the eye, you will select it, since it's infront of the actual eyeball. Select it, and go to the material lab...
Set the material up like this. I've turned transparency up to 100%. Click on the drop-down at point "A" and select "Blend Transparency". This will make the material truly transparent. I've changed the specular colour to white also. The specular halo colour (point "B") will define the "hardness" of the specular highlight. Black is hard and white will be soft. For a nice sharp highlight a dark grey is best.
That's it! Draw a marquee around the whole figure. Regroup it by clicking the "G" button next to the figure. You can give the group a new name too by clicking on the "A" (attributes) button. If you used "solo" you can turn it off now by clicking on that button again, (make sure you regroup him first!). Finally, "land" the figure by clicking on the little down arrow next to the figure, (this makes the figure drop until it hits something - usually the floor).
And there he is! A poser figure in your bryce scene.

I hope this tutorial has been useful. If any of it was unclear, email me and I'll sort it out!
