Part2 Part1

Basic Picture Texturing

If you render the scene you can see the texture applied once to each side of the cube. Hurrah! But what if you want more bricks, to make the object look bigger? Go back to the Materials Lab..
Click on the green button (point"A") to bring up the texture editor.
From here we can scale, rotate, or offset the texture. We're going to scale it up. We can scale each axis independantly, but for simplicty's sake, we'll just scale it in all directions. Click on the middle of the cube (point "A"), and drag to scale. Drag it up to around 6%..
...so that it looks like this.
Now if you render the scene, the texture repeats itself, resulting in a larger looking object. Of course, this only works if your texture image is tilable, i.e. the edges of the image merge seamlessly with one another.
And just to finish, let's have a look at the effects of Bump mapping. In this image, the texture has no bump map applied to it.
This is the same scene, but with 40% bump driven by the alpha version of the texture image. You can see how important bump mapping is when creating realistic scenes!
